Shobha comes to Skyway Behavioral Health with more than 7 years of experience in various behavioral health settings and roles. Previously, she served as a clinical faculty member at Rush University College of Nursing where she taught psychiatric nursing. She also worked as an inpatient psychiatric nurse at Rush University Medical Center where she was a charge nurse and the Unit Advisory Committee lead. Prior to that, Shobha’s experience as an Emergency Medical Technician in California inspired her to pursue psychiatry and mental health as a career. Her goal is to make psychiatric care more accessible, collaborative, and compassionate.

Shobha received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric and Mental Health from Rush University. She also has a Master of Science in Nursing from Rush University and a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and Television Arts from California State University, Northridge.

In her free time, Shobha loves watching documentaries, strength-training, reading, attending comedy shows, and traveling for good food. She is also a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for children and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect.
